Amy SandagerJuly 26, 1927 ~ July 4, 2018 (age 90)
Amy Lucille Dodd was born in Louisa, VA and grew up on a large farm on the outskirts of Washington, DC with 4 brothers and 3 sisters- often called "Lucille" or "Aunt Lu" by her many family members, nieces, and nephews. After graduating high school, Amy moved to Washington, DC where for two years she worked and went to college. She then joined the Women's Army Corp, proudly served, with her first duty station being Edgewood Arsenal, MD and then on to Heidelberg, Germany. Having plenty of opportunity to travel (and she loved to travel), she took it and saw a lot of Europe. When she came back state-side, she married a wonderful Army man Andrew Palmer Sandager, they moved to a new home in Tucson, AZ (loved the area and the weather). They adopted two children, David and Carol. Andy and Amy were married 40 years before Andy passed away. In 2005, she moved to Colorado to be near her family Chris and Carol (Sandager) Putzi and grandchildren Jeff (wife Jacqui) and Heather Putzi. Amy also has three great-grandchildren as well.
Amy had been active in church all her life, loved her family, had many, many friends, loved to sew, and was quite a social butterfly. She will truly be missed, but knowing she is now walking with God brings light and hope to all of our hearts.
