Andress GonzalesSeptember 1, 1954 ~ May 30, 2018 (age 63)
Andress (Andy) Christopher Gonzales, 63, was called home to Jesus with his family by his side on the morning of Wednesday, May 30, 2018. After a sudden severe headache that led him to the ER, and three procedures attempting to stop multiple brain bleeds, Andy was unable to sustain the trauma, and passed away at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.
He was born September 1, 1954 to Joseph Gonzales and Carmelita Maez in Del Norte, Colorado. Andy was raised in Colorado Springs from the age of 3, which he considered to be his hometown. As a child, he enjoyed drawing and music, as these allowed him to be creative and to dream. He loved his annual fishing trips with his siblings and would visit his grandparents (Maez) during the summer months and work on their farm. Andy always had many friends, as he was extremely easy going and could relate to almost everyone. After graduating from Coronado High School in 1973, he joined the United States Marine Corp in 1974 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1976. The values he learned from his years of service - discipline, tradition, confidence, belief, and achievement – were principles he held onto throughout his life. After the military, he began his journey in the business world. In 1980, he married his first wife and they welcomed his first born son, Andy, Jr. It was at this time in his life that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Andy made his career in sales and truly excelled at something he enjoyed. He remarried in 1983, and they welcomed his first born daughter, Catrina, in 1985. Most people knew Andy in the automotive industry, and he began his car business journey in 1989 for a total of 28 years of sales and management. He took great pleasure in helping others succeed from his experience and expertise. In 2000, Andy married his beloved wife, Sara, in whom he found his soul mate. Their faith and willingness to understand each other was the foundation of their successful marriage. Together they welcomed their son, Elias, in 2010 and daughter, Lexie, in 2016. Andy spent the last year-and-a-half excelling in home improvement sales. Andy was best known for his faith, humor and music. The legacy he leaves behind is trusting in God’s Word, his loving family and caring for others.
He is survived by his wife Sara Gonzales, children Karson Gonzales (Beth), Catrina Hughes (Devon), Elias Gonzales, and Lexie Gonzales, his pride and joy grandchildren Oliver, Branson, Joby, and Maddison, mother Carmelita (Carmen) Serrato, and siblings Michael, Vivian, Frances and Josie. Andy is preceded in death by father Joseph (Baldi) Gonzales, and siblings David (Jr) Pacheco and Mary (Margaret) Pacheco.
