Bok Nam LeeSeptember 13, 1954 ~ February 26, 2019 (age 64)
Bok Nam Lee, son of the late Lee Young Sam and Kil Ok Suk, was born in Munsan, South Korea on September 13, 1954. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Bok grew up in Munsan where he completed high school with honors. He then served in the Korean military for 2 years as a guard on the Panmunjom base, at the 38th parallel or DMZ. After completing his service, he married Wol Son "Sonny" Chong in 1979. He joined Sonny in the United States in 1980. They welcomed their first child, Nathan Hakjune in 1980. Their family was completed in 1983 when David Haksung was born.
They settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1984 and Bok began work as a carpenter. He worked his way up to become a master carpenter millworker where he specialized in custom architectural millwork. He greatly enjoyed his work and the challenges it provided him. He finished his career at Colorado Architectural Millwork Supply in 2015.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, keeping up to date on Korean news and events, and spending time with his three grandchildren. When his children were young, he often volunteered at the Korean church by making crosses and hand carved pulpits for the church.
He is survived by his wife, Sonny Lee; his sons, Nathan and David; his daughter-in-law, Katrina; his grandchildren, Noah, Ava and Eli; his older brother, older sister and three nephews in Korea. We will miss your generous spirit.
Services will be held Saturday, March 9th at 11 am at New Life Church in the Student Chapel. Reception immediately following the service. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
