Colin BartonNovember 27, 1982 ~ July 26, 2018 (age 35)
Colin James Barton, 35, died on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from injuries sustained in an accident at his workplace in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Colin was born on November 27, 1982 in St. Paul, Minnesota. During childhood, Colin’s family moved to the Hershey, Pennsylvania area where he met his high school sweetheart (wife of 16 years), Jennifer. Upon graduation from high school, the young couple relocated to Colorado when Colin enlisted in the Army. Colin was a decorated Sergeant in the Army and served four deployments over his 13 years of service. As a young couple, Colin and Jen spent time enjoying Colorado on their various motorcycle rides and soon they became parents of Jacob and Paige. Colin retired from the Army and used one of his many skill sets as a mechanic to provide for his family. Colin has always been a very hard worker, and was highly dedicated to his family. Colin loved being a husband and father. He enjoyed family trips on the weekends, hiking, fishing shooting and so many things. Colin was often seen supporting his wife as she played ice hockey with the Wolves, and they spent hours together riding their horses, Elektra and Harley Quinn, on trails at the Air Force Academy. Colin was incredibly proud of Jacob’s goalie abilities on the ice, and he enjoyed teaching Paige how to fish. Colin had a passion for horses and dedicated his limited free time to rehabilitating three rescue horses. Colin is survived by his wife, Jennifer, his son Jacob and daughter, Paige.
Services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, August 11, at the Cappadona Funeral Home in Colorado Springs.
