Helga DaltonAugust 7, 1936 ~ July 12, 2018 (age 81)
Helga Dalton, loving mother, oma, sister, aunt and cousin, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2018 at the Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care facility at Penrose Hospital. She lost her battle with end stage COPD and complications due to pneumonia.
Born in Kempten, Germany, and living in Ansbach, she married James Anderson, US Army and soon thereafter daughter, Patricia, was born. The family came to the United States (Sacramento, CA) and Helga became a widow just six short years later. She moved to Manhattan, KS and Helga worked at Kansas State University (go Wildcats). She loved to dance and one night she was approached by an Arthur Murray School of Dance recruiter who asked if she would work for them at their dance studio in Kansas City; for unknown reasons, she did not take them up on their offer. Five years later, she met Robert Dalton, US Army and they were wed. The family was then stationed in Germany and lived close to her German relatives (Wurzburg and then Ansbach). A few years later, son Troy's arrival blessed the family (he was in such a hurry he was born at HOME!). In 1978, the family moved back to the United States (Colorado Springs, CO) for a short period of time. Then it was back to Germany; Frankfurt this time. Helga began working for Civil Service (ROTC); they then moved to Lacey/Olympia, WA where she continued to work in Civil Service. Eventually the family moved back to Colorado Springs, CO and she worked Civil Service, this time at UCCS (still ROTC) She retired at age 67 and later became a widow for the second time.
She is survived in death by daughter Patricia (Michael) Ireland, son Troy Dalton, granddaughters Samantha and Shelby Dalton, sister Luise (Roman) Regner, nieces Susanne (David) Geldmacher and Julia Regner, brother Willibald Frohlich and cousins Romy and Tanya Skaper.
She will be greatly missed…
A private family service will be held.
