Imogene Margaret Chavez passed away September 20, 2019 after a very brief illness. She was born on March 29, 1939 in Redwing, CO to Moises and Eva (Padia) Trujillo.
Imogene married the love of her life, Michael Anthony and together they had six children. She loved to sew, making most of the clothing for her children, as well as dresses and costumes. Her biggest creations were the bright and colorful Mexican dresses her granddaughters danced in. She also enjoyed listening to her Mexican music, even traveling to New Mexico to see both Al Hurricanes (Sr and Jr). Imogene’s talents didn’t end there, she also enjoyed creating ceramic gifts of all kinds and for all occasions. Imogene was also a great cook, Enchiladas being her specialty. There were always friends of the kids stopping by for lunch, knowing the food would be there. One of her favorite times in these later years was traveling to Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, or even further to Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; her children and their spouses, Michael & Christina Chavez, Richard Chavez, Patricia & Leilon Guerrero, Donna Chavez and JoAnn Villarreal; sister, MaryAnne & Dennis Anaya, brother, Leroy & Ada Trujillo; grandchildren, Valerie, Maria, Melissa, Kimberly, Yolanda, Samantha, Rosa, Justina, Amber, Kayla, Juan and Arianna; great grandchildren, David, Marquis, Lorenzo, Catalina, Karina, Azyana, Adrian, Anicyia, Marianna, Anita, Paul Jr., Ernesto, Josiah, Braeden, Kaleena, Amyas, Jace, Rylan, Gabriel, Santiago, Leilani, Ruben, Nathaniel, Dominic, Eva, Ema, Romeo and Imannie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cathy Chavez Lovato; granddaughters, Yvonne Lovato and Teresa Armenta; and brothers, Tony, Joe and Albert Trujillo.
