Jerry Philip Carter of Colorado Springs, formally of the Lead Deadwood Spearfish area, died peacefully the evening of September 21, 2019 in Colorado Springs. He was born June 14, 1930 to John Berton “Bert” and Phyllis Margaret (Owens) Carter on a ranch near Rozet, Wyoming. He was the original owner of the Fish-N-Fry campground south of Deadwood and co-owner of Saloon No 10 in the early 60’s. He was a life member of VA post 5969 in Deadwood.
He graduated from BHTC in 1959 and worked in the accounting field for many years before turning to what he loved best, Real Estate and Construction.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Barbara Elizabeth (Chavez), they had married December 6, 1973. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Sheri Carter, Jon & Lori Carter, Susan & Craig Kneppe, Judy & Larry Nisely and Geri Fernandez; his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Karen Nelson and Joyce Bowman
Burial will be at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
