James “Jim” Earl Dunn, 67, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born to parents Nathaniel and Dorothy Dunn, on May 21, 1952 in Bakersfield, CA. On August 14, 1970, he married the love of his life, Elaine Dunn. They raised three sons, Aaron, Jeremy and Christopher. He was a proud “Boppa” to Kylie, Liam, Christian, Bailey, Kenedee and Fiona.
Jim asked the Lord to come into his life at the early age of 16. He quickly formed a passion for God’s Word and loved sharing His love with others. He changed the atmosphere of any room with his calmness, strength, and wisdom. His laugh and sense of humor was contagious. His generosity was felt by all those who knew him. He was a man of prayer and would often share with others how he was praying for them and was quick to ask if someone needed prayer. He was a Godly man who drew even closer to God in recent years as he walked by faith and not by sight. It was common to hear him worshipping in his office as he glorified God in all things.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel, mother,Dorothy, brother, John and granddaughter, Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, his three sons, Aaron, Jeremy, and Christopher, his daughters-in-law, Michelle and Amy, and grandchildren, Kylie, Liam, Christian, Kenedee and Fiona. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 10:00am – 11:00am, service at 11:30am at Cappadona Funeral Home, 1020 E. Fillmore St., Colorado Springs, CO, 80907.
