Susan Lynne Ayers Zeller lost her life in a tragic car accident on May 14, 2019 near Colorado Springs, Colorado. Susan was born October 11, 1968 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lynne and Edward F Ayers, Jr. She grew up and attended schools in Charlotte, NC and Butte, Montana, graduating from Butte High School in 1986. She then went on to get her Bachelor’s Degrees in Vocal Performance and Psychology from the University of Montana (studying one semester in Vienna, Austria) and Master’s Degrees in Music Education and Music Therapy from the University of Kansas.
Susan was a very talented musician who grew up singing and playing piano, performing alone and with her family. She went on to learn other instruments as well. For 20 years she was a Certified Music Therapist and devoted her life to her music therapy practice in Colorado Springs. She had a tremendous impact on her clients of all ages. She wrote songs and created musical activities to help them cope with life skills touching many families in the area. Susan was a loving, caring and creative woman and will be missed by her family, and leaves a huge void in her clients’ lives.
Susan is survived by her loving husband Mike Zeller of Colorado Springs, her mother Lynne Ayers of Greencastle, Indiana, brother and sister in law John and Maggie Ayers of Reelsville, Indiana, mother and father in law, Richard and Lillian Zeller, Great Falls, Montana, brother in law Rob Zeller of Great Falls Montana., niece Leslie Ayers of Fishers, Indiana, nephew Clayton Ayers of Mt Vernon, Ohio, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the United States and Australia, as well as her many cats. She was preceded in death by 4 grandparents and her father, Edward Ayers.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday August 1st at 11:00am at All Souls Unitarian Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of the United States.
