Andy Lawrence Cummings, 64 and a longtime Colorado Springs resident died December 29, 2020 after numerous complications following a heart transplant an had contracted COVID-19. He was born December 28, 1956 in Indiana to Elizabeth Jane (West) Samuel Leroy Cummings. Andy served in the US Marine Corp. and went on to earn an associate’s degree in business. He worked at King Soopers where he rose to management, then followed with a career with the CDOT where he also became management. As an entrepreneur Andy also owned and operated several small businesses throughout his life.
Andy loved fishing, camping, reading, cooking and the Broncos. He was also an avid coin collector.
Andy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lori of Colorado; daughter, Celeste of Colorado; daughter, Andrena (Phil) Meeks of Arizona; daughter, Carlie (Matthew) Gredys of Iowa; son, Justin Cummings of Colorado; 13 grandchildren: Miranda Carreon-Padilla, Marius Carreon-Padilla, Marino Carreon-Padilla, Josiah Carreon-Garcia, Adelyn Meeks, Penelope Meeks, Jackson Gredys, Gabriella Gredys, Elliana Gredys, Justice Cummings, Ayden Cummings, Noahdiah Cummings and Charlie Cummings; and one great grandchild, Jade Andy Carreon-Padilla; two sisters, Marie (Joe) Milich, Debbie (Mark) Richardson and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Jane West and Samuel Cummings and his brother Samuel (Lee) Cummings.
