The culture of music that Charlie created and shared with us changed us.
It changed our lives.
It changed our daughters, and changed their lives.
It made us all better people and forever different - richer than we would otherwise have been. This ripple effect is infinite.
We are all better people because of Charlie's presence - his music, his energy. And therefore our children and their children and all who follow after, will be different - will be richer,
because of Charlie.
The energy that Charlie put in motion is never-ending and the universe is forever changed.
This to me, is the meaning of immortality.
Thank you, Charlie.
Your energy is still here with us . . . and it always will be.

I was fortunate enough to work with Charlie in the IT group at DEC. He was the poster boy for musicians who later took up Information Technology. There definitely is a connection as he excelled in both fields. He was always upbeat, full of jokes and funny stories, and ready to do whatever was necessary to get the job done. He was loved by everyone he worked with. We share the sorrow of his passing with his family and many friends., and hope that his passion for music, and the work that he started, will be carried on by his family and many colleagues..

I'm so sorry to hear that we lost Charlie.

He was an inspirational, exemplary human being in every way.

He bore the burden of his illness with humor and grace.

We are all richer for having known him.

Even as we mourn our loss, we can gain some satisfaction knowing that his memory will be kept alive by the continuation of the camp, one of his many labors of love. Our playing will be a continual salute to his memory.

I was privileged to work with Charlie at Digital Equipment Corporation and found a wonderful friend whose love of music was an inspiration to me. He taught me fingerpicking on our lunch hour and encouraged me to strive to be a better musician. Charlie introduced Stan and I to Winfield where we enjoyed many musicians just like Charlie, and continued that annual trek of Land Rush for many years. Charlie's humor and laughter along with his strong wit kept everyone on their toes. My sympathy to his family and all his friends who loved Charlie.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Nothing can ever prepare us for the loss of our dear loved ones. I find so much comfort in the hope found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 of a future resurrection where we will get to see our loved ones again. I also find so much comfort at
2 Corinthians 1:3,4 where the God of tender mercies comforts us in all our trials. I hope that you find comfort from these scriptures and we send our deepest condolences.
