Charles "Chuck" Frederick Taylor

January 26, 1932 ~ March 29, 2023 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Obituary

Charles (Chuck) Frederick Taylor, 91, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Weldon, IA passed on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at home with his bride of 72 years by his side. He was born January 26, 1932 in Windsor, CT to Ernest Fredrick and Katherine (Ray) Taylor. Chuck was the youngest of their 5 children.

Over his life, Chuck provided for his family by starting and developing small businesses with his wife and best friend, Eleanor. The longest running business, along with farming, Taylor Enterprise was Chuck's pride, joy, and life's work for over 50 years. An avid learner, he poured his knowledge, time, heart and skill into livestock nutrition benefitting all his customers and their families until Mid-March of this year.

In addition to farming and owning Taylor Enterprise, Chuck was a founding member of Faith Fellowship Church, Osceola, IA.  He was a part of the Men’s Bible study and involved in all aspects of growing/building the church for many years.

In his leisure time, Chuck treasured reading about, selling, purchasing and travelling in his motor coaches for over 4 decades. He and Eleanor were able to continue travelling until 4 years ago.

NASCAR was Chuck’s other passion. If there was a race on, he was tuned in and extremely focused. He collected NASCAR drivers’ memorabilia, especially Dale Ernhardt. Most everyone who knew Chuck knew how passionate he was about NASCAR.

Chuck was always interested in others. What they had done, were doing and what they were interested in. His humor was unparalleled with a quick mind and a sharp wit.

Chuck is survived by “his better half”, Eleanor, his children Michael (Fran) Supple of Gulfport, MS, RHonda (Matt) Grimes of Colorado Springs, CO, Terry (Danelle) Taylor of Weldon, IA, Ted (Olga) Taylor of Oxford, WI, 8 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and an abundance of friends.

At his request, a service will be held in Osceola, IA, when Eleanor passes, and they return to IA together. We encourage friends and extended family to share their sympathies, memories and stories of Chuck with his family using online condolences at www.cappadonafh.com.
