Welcome to the memorial page for

Constance "Connie" White

November 10, 1947 ~ May 5, 2020 (age 72)

Connie was born in St. Francis, Kansas on November 10-1947 to Dorothy and Harris Hetzler.

The family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1949.  Connie has lived here the whole time until her passing.

Connie was joined with her newly born brother, Greg Hetzler, in 1954.  She made lifelong friends throughout her childhood, her school years and throughout her whole adult life.

She followed in her father's footsteps by working in the teaching profession.

Connie started dating James "Jim" White in 1971.  He was to become a Colorado Springs Firefighter in early 1972.

She married Jim in the summer of 1973 and was married to him for almost 47 years before passing.

Connie and Jim adopted their son, Jeffrey, at 2 months old in 1982.  She became a stay at home mom, loving him unconditionally.  Connie thought the world revolved around their grandson, Memphis, who was born on Thanksgiving Day 2011.

Her family and extended families typically spent most holidays together and shared years of priceless memories.

Connie loved to travel, by car, train and plane or cruise ship.  Just not on Jim's motorcycles anymore.  She loved to meet people wherever she could.  She rarely spoke a bad word to anyone she met.  She always tried to have a positive influence on every situation, constantly trying to keep Jim in line.

She loved to frequent Las Vegas almost yearly, usually to meet up with her brother, Greg, niece, Gretchen and friends.  She always tried to win on the slot machines, but usually didn't.  She loved the live entertainment, and the numerous shows.

Connie and family enjoyed traveling, meeting with relatives and friends whenever possible.

For several years, Connie and Jim stayed in Estes Park, Colorado every fall to enjoy photographing the elk herds and enjoying the local restaurants.  She loved the traveling, seeing friends and relatives, going to a casino or two and just enjoying the retirement years.

Connie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Unexpectedly, Connie passed away due to medical problems after surgery.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, James White; son, Jeffrey White; daughter-in-law, Susanna White; grandson, Memphis White; brother, Greg Hetzler; sister-in-law, Joy Smith; niece, Gretchen Grady; and grand-niece, Hazel Grady.  There are also cousins and many friends still shocked that she is no longer here to share the good times.

Connie was the type of person that was loved and cherished by anyone who knew her.

Connie will be always missed, but never forgotten.  REST IN PEACE

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice
