David Jeffrey Babb

April 26, 1979 ~ November 12, 2021 (age 42)

Obituary

David Jeffrey Babb, 42, was taken into the arms of our Lord and savior, Jesus, to his permanent heavenly home on November 12, 2021. To those of us who knew and loved him this was way to soon and he was way too young. Though there is a hole in our hearts, I know that God always has a perfect plan and we have to trust Him and trust in it.

David was born April 26, 1979 to Karen Sue and David Lee Babb in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His family relocated to Colorado Springs when he was a baby and he has lived here ever since, but he still claimed to be a Michigander through and through.

David and Danielle meet in 1998 and were married on October 16, 1999. They were married for 22 years and share one beautiful 10-year-old daughter, Shawna.

David had many interests. He loved sports especially football and wrestling. He was a video game fanatic and loved playing with anyone who would play with him. He truly enjoyed being with his friends and having people over to the house as he is a homebody for sure. Speaking of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. that was one of, if not his favorite TV shows. Many of our friends compared us to Ross and Rachael because we just belonged together, others compared us to Monica and Chandler because our home was always open to everyone. Truly we were a mashup of both. God knows that we were meant to be together and having friends and family over or living with us, is just who we were.

David loved to talk and meet new people, joke around, play practical jokes on people, and was just an all-around great person.

The Lord and his faith are not something that David took lightly. He loved God and His word. David wanted nothing more than to live for truth and spread God’s word and love. He truly was a man after Gods own heart and wanted to see all his loved ones saved and to know Jesus. In the last few years David has been growing by leaps and bounds in his faith and had a deep desire to do more and more in church and get more involved to help build his family’s walk with God as well.

David’s family is what he lived for, they were the apple of his eye. We shared a love that words cannot describe. Shawna was his princess, his superhero, his everything. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family watching movies, playing games, traveling, camping, going to family dinners, concerts, and events, and just enjoying life in general. It was not just his wife and daughter either; his brothers, parents, extended family, he loved being around everyone. He was proud of how close his family was. He also told me so many times how much he loved his in-laws and that he could not have asked for better ones - he loved you all more than he could have ever expressed in words and appreciated you more than you will ever know. David loved his church family as if they were his own family and they loved him back the same. After 35+ years the love just grows, and God bonds hearts.

David is preceded in death by one sibling, his mother, Karen Babb, 2 grandfathers, 1 grandmother.

David is survived by his wife, Danielle Babb; his daughter, Shawna Babb; his father, Dave Babb; his two brothers, Eric Babb and Kelly Babb; as well as numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends and other loved ones.
