David L ("Thrasher") ThrasherOctober 5, 1967 ~ July 16, 2020 (age 52)
God has taken one of the sweetest, loving men to join him in heaven.
It broke my heart to lose you but you didn't go alone, part of me went with you the day God took you home.
David is now walking with the angels and has the best seat in the house at Arrowhead stadium and he finally got to see the Chiefs win a superbowl!
His love for God, family, music and friends will keep his memory alive forever. Pray to God and think of him, hear a song and think of him and always hug everyone.
David was so loved by so many. He always had a hug and a smile, a song and a story. Life will be incomplete without him in it. He had a passion for music, loved America and the beach. He cried every time at the National Anthem and sappy movies. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs and never wavered. He would help anyone who needed it and never met a person he didn't like. David's favorite movie was Shawshank Redemption and his favorite quote was...."get busy living or get busy dying".
David is survived by his wife, Brooke Smith Thrasher of 24 years; his mother, Sharon Thrasher of Texas; brother, James Thrasher (wife, Kim Styles-Thrasher, nephew, Pierce Thrasher and niece, Ava Thrasher) of Texas; sister, Carolyn Clark (husband, Gregg Clark; nieces, Kara, Kallie and Kayden Clark) all of Texas; cousins, Nancy Thrasher (Nancy's step-daughter Nancy Jo Holdridge), Kim Horne (husband, Frank Horne; nephew, Ethan Horne and niece, Ellie Horne); mother-in-law, Dona Baird of Montana; sister-in-law, Amber Sanchez (husband, Christopher Sanchez; nephews, Nathan and Michael Sanchez; nieces, Savannah, Sarah, and Mary Sanchez); sister-in-law, Casey Smith of Montana; and niece, Gretchen Smith.
David is preceded in death by his father, James B. Thrasher; cousin, Roy Thrasher; and nephew, Jeremy Smith.
A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date and will be announced once arrangements are made.
