Doris W Brunjes, aged 86, recently of Colorado Springs CO, but also from Dunwoody Ga, passed away on September 20, 2021, probably from a broken heart, as her husband of 66 years, Roy A Brunjes, preceded her in death only a month before. She was born on May 9, 1935 to Hertha and Edward Witte in New York City, where she eventually met and married Roy, the love of her life, in 1955. She and Roy had five children and lived mostly in the southeast of the US, but also in England, which she enjoyed very much.
Doris will be remembered for her amazing strength, courage and grace in the face of such a devastating disease (multiple sclerosis) that took strong hold in the later part of her life. She had a smile for everyone and she kept her sharp wit with her always. She raised five children and was quick to say in this last year, that she was glad to have done it before the COVID pandemic, as she could imagine how difficult it would have been during a pandemic. She was so proud of all of her children and would tell you that it was the accomplishment of her life to have raised such wonderful children.
She is survived by four of her five children: Elizabeth Breen (Dawn) of Louisiana, Lita McCormick of Georgia, Roy E Brunjes (Eddie) of Colorado, and Roy P Brunjes (Paul) of Georgia. Sadly, one daughter, Beverly Kirk of Florida, passed away recently in 2020. There are many grandchildren and even great grandchildren that join the immediate family in mourning the sad loss of the matriarch of the family
