Douglass Reed Johnson

July 27, 1957 ~ January 29, 2023 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Obituary

Douglass Reed Johnson passed away on January 29, 2023 at the age of 65. A Colorado native, he was born July 27, 1957 to Charlotte Ruth (Hockett) 7 Harold Eugene Johnson.

He leaves behind his brother, Harold and sister, Jody; three children, Janea, Antanea and Drusean; four grandchildren, Javon, Suvali, Cyniah and Marley; one ex-wife, "Francis", that he never really got over, and hundreds of fish at Quail Lake due to his refusal to fish during the summer because, as he said "it's too hot and I'm not from Texas".

He joined the Army in 1975 and was proud to have served his country for 12 years until he retired and he always talked about how being in the military were some of the best years of his life.

Everyone knows him as the life and laughter of the party, telling the funniest "Yo momma" joke, as his humor always shone bright in every room he entered.

He loved fishing, football, his truck, his family and his beloved dog, Cattiva.

If you find him in Heaven he will likely be found telling dad jokes, placing double or nothing bets on football games (because he lost the first bet and didn't want to pay up), listening to the Funkadelics and smoking a cigarette.

Following his wishes, there will not be a service, but a celebration of life.

You will forever be loved and missed here on earth until we see you again in Heaven. We love you Douglass "Wee Doggie" Johnson.
