Edward Floyd MaestasJuly 21, 1952 ~ July 28, 2020 (age 68)
Edward “Squeaky” Maestas went to be with The Lord on July 28, 2020.
He was a beloved husband of 52 years, a devoted father, loving grandfather, thankful great-grandfather, the youngest of 16 and a dear friend to many. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Ed is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Lucy; his three children, Lisa, Floyd and Tonya; his 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; his 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Porfirio and Frances Maestas, 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Ed was born on July 21, 1952 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired from the Laborers Union after fulfilling 30 years of faithful service. He will always be remembered for his hard-working mentality, outstanding morals, determination and strong will. He took pride in his yard and his lawn was always the greenest on the block! He enjoyed fishing, camping and had a passion for eagles. Now he can spread his wings and fly. His true happiness came from loving and spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and children. He loved his family more that anything in this world and The Lord even more.
He was a proud member of UMOT church, where he would always say how blessed he was to have such a caring pastor and wonderful church family. He would share the gospel as much as he could to whoever he could. He genuinely loved The Lord with all of his might. He had a giving heart and selfless soul. He was always there for anybody in need. There were no strangers, only friends. He left this world having given many blessings, whether it be the simple gift of friendship, finance, or the reassurance of his unconditional love. He is dearly loved and will always hold a special place in our heart.
We couldn’t have asked for a greater role model and provider. We love you Papo!
