Fayrene Catherine Dittman

September 16, 1942 to July 7, 2022

Fayrene Catherine Dittman of Colorado Springs, CO attained her renewed spirit on July 7th, 2022. She was 79 years old. 

Fayrene was born in Grand Island, NE to Ephrem 'Bud' and Barbara Tyma, the second of six children. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Colorado Springs.

She met and married her soulmate, Walter E. Dittman, and their hearts love brought them two children. Their professional life carried the family to Ramstein, Germany, Columbus, OH, and Honolulu, HI before returning to their forever home in Colorado. 

She worked a variety of careers, beginning as a candy striper at Penrose Hospital; as a secretary for the 86th Tactical Fighter Wing, the Commander Third Fleet Navy, and HQ USAFE LGX/DPSF/LGT. Her passion though was anything within the justice system, having worked in Division Court, 4th Judicial District, the Jury Commissioner and the District Attorney’s Office. She was eventually able to retire and enjoyed a new role of grandma. 

She was preceded in death (too early) by her husband in 1998, her parents, aunts and uncles, sisters Valda Rae and Rojean, and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Fayrene is survived by her two children: son Kevin (CO), daughter Stacy (CO), granddaughters Sydney and Kaitlyn (CO), and two great- grandchildren, Reece and Wren, whom she absolutely adored. Also mourning her loss are two sisters, Paulette (OK) and Donelle (NE), and her brother Tommy (MT), several in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends she always treated as family. 

A memorial service is planned at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on July 22, 2022 in Colorado Springs, and the final resting place of both Fayrene and Walt will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at a future date.
