Gary L Presler

November 14, 1939 ~ July 27, 2020 (age 80)

Gary L. Presler was born in Beloit, Kansas to the late Darrell A. and Ruth M Presler November 14th, 1939 and departed this life July 27, 2020. The Presler Family moved from Kansas in 1946 to start their family business in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Gary graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1957. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force in August 1958 and was honorably discharged in June 1962.

While enlisted he married Gloria J. Ramsey. After serving in the Air Force he returned to Colorado Springs where he worked alongside his father and Grandfather at the family grocery store.

When his father retired, Gary purchased the grocery store known as The Country Store, also being one of the first self-service gas stations in Colorado Springs.

Eventually the business would be sold, as a journey of recovery, sobriety, and mentoring in a span of over 44 years. His life’s mission, other than the growth within himself, was his love of people and the aspiration for the well-being and growth for those he mentored.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents & sister, Marcia Whale.
