Helga H. Shepp

Helga H. Shepp passed away at her home in Colorado Springs on 22 February 2023 after gradually deteriorating health. Helga was born in Hof, Germany to Adolph and Katarina Winkler on 15 May 1938. She was 84 years old. She was the second of two children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Herbert, and her husband of 17 years, James Shepp. She is survived by five stepchildren, Mark Shepp of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jodie (Paul) Bogacik of Orlando, Florida; Kim (Mike) Adkinson of Winter Springs, Florida; Lori (Bill) Jones of Wadsworth, Ohio and Kim Sehnert of St. Louis, Missouri. Helga enjoyed reading, listening to her favorite German music, watching TV travel logs, watching Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz, eating out at restaurants with her friends, and caring for animals. She loved animals and was always concerned for their welfare. She was a member of the Austrian-American Enzian Club, the Colorado Springs Breakfast Club, and participated in dinner meetings for people interested in learning and practicing German at the Edelweiss Restaurant. Memorial gifts should be given to an animal welfare organization of your choice in honor of Helga and her love for animals. No memorial service is planned at Helga’s request.
