Jack Lee Brown

December 8, 1946 ~ May 10, 2021 (age 74)


Pastor Jack Lee Brown, age 74,  passed away on May 10, 2021 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was the son of the late James M Brown and Mildred H Brown. He was the husband of Diana Brown, father of Wendy Sotak and Melinda Spaulding and the beloved grandfather of Isabel Spaulding.  Jack also was the proud father in law of Ryan Sotak and Brian Spaulding. 


Jack was born in Kalamazoo, MI on December 8, 1946. He was a graduate of Vicksburg High School and later graduated Kalamazoo Valley Community College.  Shortly after High School, Jack was drafted and served two years in the United States Army. Jack and Diana were married in 1966 and remained married for 55 years until his death.  Jack became a pastor and spent decades pastoring a Community Church of God in Williamsburg, PA. He ended his career pastoring a Church of God in Turkey City, PA.   Jack dedicated his life to the church and retired from pastoring in 2009  .  Jack was an employee of the Clarion Area Agency on Aging for over 25 years.  During his years in Clarion, Jack was an active volunteer with the Salvation Army. 


Music was a huge part of Jack’s life.  He was taught to play the guitar by his father and his older brother Jim.  Jack loved playing guitar and singing gospel music with his brothers, sisters and mother. 

In his younger years Jack was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed sports and being active.  He loved playing softball and baseball with his brothers and sisters.  Jack loved to talk about pitching with his family and especially his nieces and nephews.

Jack is survived by his wife Diana Brown, his two daughters and loving granddaughter. He is also survived by eight siblings James Brown and his wife Grace, Richard Brown and his wife Dianna, Robert Brown and his wife Ruthann, Rebecca Devries and her husband Ken, Jean Julien, Lynn Brown and his wife Gloria, Mark Brown and his wife Mary, Karen Fall and her husband Michael.  Jack is also survived by brother- in-law Robert Richey and beloved niece Johnnie Sloan and family. In addition to his siblings, Jack is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister Debbie Brown and his parents James M Brown and Mildred H Brown.

A memorial service will be held in his home state of Michigan in July of 2021 for his family and friends. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that charitable donations be made to Salvation Army.
