Joanne Forgue

Joanne Forgue (aka: Josephine Reddin Taylor Forgue) passed from this earthly life on May 4, 2023, having celebrated her 80th birthday, February 25th.  Surviving her are her husband of 52 years, Joseph (ne: Douglas) Forgue; her son, David Forgue, his wife Rebecca, and grandsons, Sam, and Jack; her son, Paul Forgue, his wife Laura, and grandchildren, Abi, Kate, and Ben; her sisters, Mary Hassouna, Rae Taylor, and Anne Del Monte. Preceding her in death were her parents, T. Raber and Josephine Taylor and her sisters, Carol Claypool, Peggy Crumbacher, and Kay Parker.  She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, a multitude of extended family members related through kinship and/or by marriage, as well as countless friends. 

Joanne served her Risen Lord ministerially in many ways, as a teacher, as a hospital chaplain, and most extensively as a spiritual director.  While she embraced her Catholic faith profoundly and strongly, she had a genuinely expansive acceptance and supportive presence to all persons within numerous spiritual, religious, and cultural horizons.  

Memorial gifts in her honor in support of your preferred spirituality or to institutions serving the marginalized and/or promoting social justice would be most appropriate. 

Funeral services will be celebrated, Saturday, June 24th, at 10:30 AM, at Joanne’s home parish: Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Black Forest, Colorado. A light meal will be served in the parish hall immediately following. Plans for a memorial service later in the summer, at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Oklahoma City, are pending.
