On Saturday, February 18, 2023, John A Gloriod (aka Jack Gloriod), beloved husband, father, and grandfather, left this earth, after seventy-five years, to be with Jesus. Born to John and Viola Gloriod, Jack graduated from the United States Military Academy, class of 1969, with a Bachelor of Science. After serving in Vietnam as a Lieutenant, he married Rebecca Horton. Jack is survived by his wife, Becky Gloriod, his daughters, Karine Gloriod Pignatiello and Vivi Gloriod, and his grandsons, Brighton Narvaez, Sawyer Narvaez, and Jack Pignatiello.
Jack had a successful military career of 25 years, earning a purple heart, 3 bronze stars, and retiring as a Colonel. While in the Army, he continued his education graduating from the Chilean Mountain Warfare School, the Army War College and Boston University where he received his Master’s in Business. After the Army, Jack and Becky built a successful Real Estate Brokerage and helped countless people “Invite Success into their Homes.” As a civilian, Jack was passionate about giving back his community to include being the senior warden at St. George’s Anglican Church, serving on the board of many companies like Pyxant Labs and offering his assistance to The Home Front Cares, now the Home Front Military Network.
Jack always loved living an active life. He was an avid golfer, tennis player, skier, and runner. He was a member of the Pikes Peak West Point Society and The Broadmoor Golf Club. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 2 pm at St. George’s Anglican Church, 217 E Pikes Peak Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able, instead, make a donation to St. George’s Anglican Church.

Jack is survived by his wife, Becky Gloriod, his daughters, Karine Gloriod Pignatiello and Vivi Gloriod, and his grandsons, Brighton Narvaez, Sawyer Narvaez, and Jack Pignatiello.
Jack was born at Fort Benning, Georgia on November 22, 1947, to John and Viola Gloriod. He grew up as an Army Brat, living all over the world. When he was 13, he lived in Karachi, Pakistan where he had the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal but instead chose to go wild boar hunting. After graduating High School in Salt Lake City, he attended the United States Military Academy. While at the Academy, he was known as “a proverbial lady’s man,” and he was remembered for “his dedicated, determined personality”. Jack ran Track for 3 years, was in the Sky-diving Club his yearling (Sophomore) year, played Football his cow (Junior) year, and was the #1 chess player in the Chess club all four years. He graduated class of 1969, with a Bachelor of Science and branched Field Artillery.
After graduation, Jack when to Ranger School in Florida, where he had a blind date with Rebecca Horton. He carried her picture with him the entire time he was in Vietnam and told everyone he was going to marry her when he got back home. After being shot up in Vietnam, the Army sent him back to the States, and he did, in fact, make that beautiful girl his bride.
