Jon Daniel Blide

November 27, 1968 ~ December 9, 2020 (age 52)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jon Daniel Blide on December 9, 2020. Jon passed away peacefully at his home. Jon was born in Mason City, Iowa, on November 27, 1968, to William & Beverly Blide. Jon is survived by his children Jordyn and Aidan Blide (22 and 17) along with their mother Maria Blide. Jon enlisted in the Air Force in 1988. As an Airman, Jon was a leader. He was the standard bearer for all of his fellow colleagues. He took younger Airman under his wing and mentored them and ensured they were properly trained. He was so driven that he studied at the University of Arizona, received a Bachelor of Administration, and went on to become an instructor at the Air Force Ground Transportation school in Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri. He began his career as a 2nd Lieutenant at the 92nd Squadron at Fairchild Air Force Base.

Jon’s life outside of his career consisted of being dedicated to his family. In his spare time he enjoyed expanding his knowledge through reading, traveling, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with Boo and Bailey, his two yorkies. On social occasions, he liked grabbing a beer with good friends. Jon lived a conservative life so he could offer the best for his family. Jon was a quiet man who deeply impacted those of whom he was close with.

Jon was such an intelligent man. He accomplished so much in his life, but more importantly, he was a loving and devoted father. Jon would’ve done anything to be there for his kids and to love and support them. Little things such as staying home with his dogs was enough to bring joy into his life. He was an extraordinary person and we will all live on through our cherished memories of him.

Jon was a loving father, brother, loyal friend, intellect, adventure seeker, honorable Air Force Officer, and a devoted Husker’s fan. Although Jon left this world so soon, his life will lead as an example to his family and friends who deeply love and miss him.

We are accepting contributions for Jon’s children (Jordyn and Aidan Blide). All your contributions are deeply appreciated. We will be accepting contributions through Venmo at “Maria-Blide”.
