She Worked hard all of her life and loved her family and was loved by all who knew her.
Josefa loved life and lived large and although when looking at her full life from beginning to end she fought many battles and was longsuffering, she grasped at every opportunity to celebrate and live life as full as she possibly could. She was Beautiful.
She grew up in the Philippines during World War II and lived and witnessed many atrocities as a young child, and was not able to attend school until the age of 12 due to the war, and afterwards her mother had to surrender her to her Aunt to raise her. She Graduated college earning a Bachelors degree in Accounting.
She left her home in the Philippines at the age of 23 and came to America leaving her family and all that was familiar behind, and entered a whole new world where she struggled to find her place and where she fit in. Twenty years later she brought her mother Paz Fuentes, affectionately known as Lola, from the Philippines to live with us while we were growing up. Lola was also a true joy and blessing to our family.
Dancing was her favorite pastime. Shortly after retiring, moms health declined, leaving her unable to walk or dance. Dancing was her favorite pastime.
She was incredibly courageous, kind, bold, and yes crazy beautiful.
Our memories are innumerable and unimaginable to most and she leaves us with an endearing love that is everlasting.
We love and respect her and we are so grateful for all that we learned from her. We are Blessed to have had such a great Mom whose imprint on our lives will live in our hearts forever!
Thank you for being everything that you are and our hearts are full, you truly are one Beautiful woman inside and out! Missing you, and don’t worry we all know how very much you loved us all. You have been a GREAT Mom! We will love you Forever!
Rest in Peace Mom! XOXOXO
