Welcome to the memorial page for

Linda (Brenneman) Jennings

March 14, 1954 ~ September 6, 2020 (age 66)

Linda Brenneman Jennings was born March 14, 1954, and passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020.

Linda was born in Oak Park, Illinois and often shared stories about her loving parents and shenanigans growing up with three siblings in Crystal Lake. In the early 1970s Linda moved to Colorado Springs and found her perfect balance of nature and community.

In the summer of 1980, she met her future husband John when they realized their shared love of sports, riding motorcycles, music, and adventure. John fell for her positive attitude, kind heart, and fierce loyalty to her friends and family. They were married on December 31, 1985.

As proprietor of The Leather Connection on E. Bijou, Linda’s creativity shined through with her dedication to craftsmanship in leatherworking, which she continued doing as a hobby even into her 34-year career with FedEx, from which she retired in 2017. Linda enjoyed spending time in the mountains, road trips, and being a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Cubs. In 2016, Linda and John made a dream come true with trips to see the Broncos win the Superbowl in January, and a World Series game at Wrigley Field in October.

But everyone knew, above all else, Linda treasured her family. She spent her life working hard and raising her children, Jesse and Jaimie, and arming them with her wisdom and love as they grew. Linda was proudly still “Mama” and a “Den Mom” long after her children left the nest. Two of her proudest moments in the last year were watching Jaimie walk the stage at UCCS to accept her teaching degree, and dancing with Jesse at his wedding.

Linda was an artisan, a softball player, a dog lover, and a pickle maker. We will miss the crinkles around her eyes when she laughed. We will miss the way she loved to tell hilarious family stories and jokes. We will miss how she turned her love of home cooking into an art form, every Thanksgiving her masterpiece.

Linda is survived by her husband, John Jennings, son Jesse Jennings of Denver, and daughter Jaimie Jennings of Longmont. She is survived by her siblings: Chik Brenneman of Sacramento, California, Susie Brenneman Hosey of Littleton, Colorado, and Bob Brenneman of Clayton, California. She was a proud aunt of Eric and Mark Brenneman, Andrew and Roger Goodwin, and great aunt to Ian, Ezra, and Joshua. She is preceded in death by her father James and mother Irene.

A memorial service will be held at Cappadona Funeral Home in Colorado Springs on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11 am. Linda loved all kinds of flowers. Her family would love to see a room of blooms in her honor on the day of her service. Donations may also be made in Linda’s name to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
