Martin (Marty) Ferrante
Loving Husband and Amazing Father
Martin (Marty) Ferrante 83 of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away at his family home on May 9th, 2022, one day after his 83rd Birthday. Marty spent his childhood in Brooklyn, New York (hence the accent) before joining The United States Air Force. He wanted to travel the world and help protect his country. Marty spent 27 years in the Air force quickly gaining expertise in communications. His tour in Vietnam would ultimately lead to ongoing health issues from “Agent Orange” for the rest of his life. Marty served in Philippines, Korea, Japan, and England before finally retiring in Colorado Springs. He then went on to work for the D.O.D as a civilian at Shriever, Norad and Peterson AFB.
Marty met his wife Kum-Su while stationed in Seoul South Korea, they would continue a love affair that would span more than 50 years and create a loving family. Son Casey Ferrante, Son Steven Ferrante, and daughter Alicia Ferrante, Grand daughter Asia Ferrante, Grand daughter Liya Ferrante. Unfortunately Alicia passed away at a young age.
My Father was my hero. I’ve never met another man that was so kind, giving, caring & selfless. He always had my back and bailed me out (literally). He was always there to talk to and would have some crazy story about his days overseas from Bob Hope to Nixon and JFK. He truly loved his family and was always smiling. He would do anything and give anything to the people around him. He would look forward to Thanksgiving just to have the whole family together, he loved feeding everyone, a glass of wine and the occasional V.O. & 7up. Memorial service will be at 11am May 19th at Cappadona Funeral Home 1020 E. Fillmore St. Followed by burial with Military Honors at Evergreen Cemetery 1005 Hancock Expy. In lieu of flowers please make a charitable contribution to The Vietnam Veterans Memorial fund. www.vvmf.org
