Rachel Ann Grove, formerly of Bradford, Pennsylvania, passed away in Colorado Spring, CO on February 9, 2021. She was born February 27, 1930 in Bradford, PA to Nora Viola (Clyde) and William Paula Fairbanks. She attended various elementary schools in the Bradford area, School Street Junior High and Bradford Area High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Wesley Grove and her youngest son, John Wesley Grove. Also preceding her in death was her sister, Rosemond Sue Spears and brothers, Clyde Fairbanks and Paul Grant Fairbanks. She is survived by her children and spouses, Bonnie & Kenneth Ansell, David & Kristy Grove, and Michele Grove, wife of John Grove; and her four grandsons and spouses, John & Christi, Richard & Kady Grove, Matthew & Christina and Richard “Chad: & Roselle Ansell. She is also has seven great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Chase, Britton, Brandon, Nia, Alya and Shila Ansell.
She has missed many friends, family and loved ones in the Bradford Area while living with her daughter in Colorado Springs for the past 2 ½ years.
She was so thankful for the love and care during her battle with pancreatic cancer.
Rachel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bradford. She volunteered at the Salvation Army Food Pantry for 30 years. She was a member of the Lioness Club and was the editor of the local Cancer Survivor’s magazine, “The Encore”. She was the founding member of the Rachel Fund, which helped those in need with utilities and medication expenses.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at the McKean County Memorial Cemetery.
