Reverend William G. (Bill) JohnsonSeptember 11, 1944 ~ January 25, 2020 (age 75)
Bill Johnson went home to be with Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on January 25th, 2020. Bill was born in Princeton, Kentucky on September 11th, 1944. He spent his formative years in Owensboro, Kentucky, as his family moved there in 1948. Upon graduation in Daviess County High School in 1962, Bill joined the US Air Force and served until 1966. Bill was stationed in South East Asia in 1965, during the Vietnam conflict. Bill continued in Newark, Ohio to work for the Air Force as a civilian until he resigned in 1972 to become "a full time soul-winner for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ". In 1973, Bill received the call into full time Christian service as a church pastor, and was ordained as a full time minister by the Southern Baptist convention. Bill preached to churches in Ohio, Kentucky and Colorado. In 1977, Bill entered the Lord's call into full time Evangelism and started "Faith Ministries International". Bill led revival services in churches all across the United States and in England. Bill served as an Evangelist until 1992-93 when God changed his circumstances and he moved from Woodland Park to Green Mountain Falls and started his own printing business, Anchor Printing, which he also used to proclaim his savior. Bill moved to Florissant in 2005, and he was known and loved by many friends of Pete's Place Firewood Ministry, The Community Church Storehouse, Baptist Pantry Ministry and Help The Needy, all of Teller County who knew Bill as "The Prayer Warrior".
Even though Bill had many ups and downs in life, he never wavered from his faith and service to Jesus. He is survived by his three children, Nancy Marie Hayden, Cheryl Lynn Evans and Wm. G. Johnson Jr., 3 Grandchildren, and one brother, Jack L. Johnson of Newark, Ohio.
Bill will be missed by all his friends and family, but we are assured we will all be reunited in Jesus.
