Richard ‘Dick’ Pialet succumbed to illness and at 87 years young was finally reunited in Heaven with his best friend and wife of 57 years, Loretta, on September 25, 2021. He left a legacy of strength and love to his family and friends
Dad lived an extraordinary life. Born in the steel town of Weirton, WV, he reveled in the outdoors and began his lifelong love of sports. From being a lifeguard, to being a star high school football and basketball player, sports were his passion. But he captured his ultimate trophy when he married his high school sweetheart, Loretta (Yoby), also of Weirton
Dad spent an illustrious career of 26 years in the Air Force retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1978. He gave the family the opportunity to travel the country and see the world. His passion post-retirement was golf and was a proud member of the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Eisenhower Gold Club and Men’s association, consistently shooting in the low 80’s this summer with a ‘Hole in One’ in August 2021. Even with this love for golf, he was a more passionate follower and supporter of Academy Athletics in particular the Air Force Academy Men’s basketball team where he became a personal mentor and friend to many of the individual players.
Dick leaves behind family in Colorado Springs and across the county. He is survived by his sons Richard (Renell) and Scott (Julie), grandchildren Vincent (Valerie), Trevor, Tiersa, Tyler, Kendra (Vaughn), Jessica (Rob) and Jenna. Great-Grandchildren Erin, Paige, Payton and Isaiah.
Dad ---- You are missed and we cannot wait to see you again in heaven.
