Shirley Jean Krentz, 79, passed away in Colorado Springs on December 13, 2021. She was born September 9, 1942 in Flint, MI to Maggie Wilson (Lifsey) and William Stuart McElderry, Jr.
Shirley attended the Flint, MI public schools, graduating from Flint Technical High School in 1960. She spent the majority of her adulthood in Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina and the last 11 years in Colorado Springs.
Shirley was passionate about dogs, especially her own, and she fostered many dogs throughout her life. She found love with her partner, Glen, and lived some of her happiest times with him and his family.
Shirley is survived by her three children, Terri Fogler (George) of Florida; Chris Blakeley and Todd Hentosz, both of Colorado Springs, CO; her sister, Joyce Mackin (Larry) of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, Chris Blakeley, Jr. of FL, Dylan Hentosz and Alexis Hentosz of Colorado Springs; a great-granddaughter, Bentli Blakeley of FL; a nephew, Brian Tucker, of Durham, NC; her companion, Glenn Peterson, of Wetmore, CO; and her constant furry companion, “Buddy”.
She will be deeply missed!
